Thelma Adams Jessip, age 84, of Quincy, died on Sunday, August 8, 2010 in Blessing Hospital She was born on April 28, 1926 in Bunceton, MO the daughter of John Virgil & Virginia (Kaiser) Gander. She married Carl Adams, Sr. on December 20, 1945. He preceded her in death in November of 1987. She later married Lawrence Jessip and he survives. She was of the Christian Faith. Thelma enjoyed gardening and antiquing. She also greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her husband Lawrence, Thelma is also survived by children Tanna Lee Shock of California and Carl Adams, Jr. of Quincy; grandchildren Marla Shock Stephens, Curtis Adams and his wife Deborah, Craig Adams and his wife Heidi, and Crystal Hilbing and her husband Curt; great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Thelma was also preceded in death by one son: Calvin D. Adams, one brother Franklin Gander and three sisters: Lucille Harris, Mary Tutt and Dorothy Garnett, and a daughter-in-law, Carol S. Adams. Funeral services for Thelma's family and close friends will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. James Riley. Interment in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton, MO. Visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 10:00 Am until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Cancer Center in the memory of Carol S. Adams.
