The oldest son of Jonathon & Harriet Blancett Baldwin, Judge William H., died in 1862. He had been Twp. clerk, Justice of the Peace, Postmaster, General of the County Militia, State Senator, Judge of the Second Judicial District of Ohio. He was instrumental in bringing the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad through Blanchester. He was a large landowner & made an addition to Blanchester, conducted a general store & at the time of his death was Chairman of the Universalist State, State Convention of Ohio.
The first lawyer was William H. Baldwin, admitted to the bar in 1842, & became resident Judge in 1855.
