Son of S. S. Anderson and Elizabeth McWhite Brooks, husband of Jessie Hattie Rogers.

MARION - William F. Brooks, 58, a native of this county, died unexpectedly at his home in Whiteville, N.C. this morning at 7:30 o'clock. Mr. Brooks, apparently in good health, prepared to go to work this morning at Roses Wholesale Grocery in Whiteville, when he was stricken with a heart attack and died shortly after. For several years Mr. Brooks traveled out of Marion for various concerns and two years ago went with the Roses Wholesale Grocery of this city and Whiteville, N.C.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jessie Rogers Brooks and two children, Billy Brooks and Jimmy Brooks, all of Whiteville; one brother, K. D. Brooks of Marion; three sisters, Mrs. W. C. Baker of Godfrey's Ferry, Mrs. Robert Baker of Marion, and Mrs. J. W. Hargrove of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at the home in Whiteville Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock and the body will be brought to Marion for interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
