MIDLAND - James Alexander, 73, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. A native of here, he was a son of the late Stanley and Amy (Mansfield) Alexander.

A retired foreman of the Ocean Mine, he was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics.

Surviving are his widow, Pearl (Muir) Alexander; three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Abbott, Mrs. Mary Grady, Cumberland; Mrs. Nettie Henry, Loartown; four brothers, Stanley Alexander, Hagerstown; John Alexander, Springfield, W. Va.; Marcellus Alexander, Flintstone, and Theodore Alexander, Cumberland.

The body is at the Eichhorn Funeral Home in Lonaconing, where friends will be received today from 7 until 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m.

A service will be conducted at the Midland Methodist Church Monday at 2 p.m., with Rev. Catherine Bratton officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland. The body will be taken to the church at noon on Monday.
