With her husband Samuel Goldman, they ran a tavern and shops in Nagasaki from the mid 1870's. In 1888, after a brutal attack and other deteriorating health issues, Goldman left for Alexandra, Egypt while Sarah remained in Nagasaki and ran the family store. He died away a year later. Sarah took out an ad in the local paper announcing that she would be continuing proprietership in the name of S. Spunt.

Mother of three sons, including Ramsey Goldman, and Meier Goldman. Sister of Clara Spunt.
