Stella Frances Evans was born 06 June 1928,
in Bluefield, Mercer County, West Virginia,
the daughter of Hubert L. and Stella
(nee Johnson) Evans. Her Mother, Stella
Johnson Evans died in
Little Stella's childbirth.

Stella Johnson Evans was the daughter
of David Elliot Johnson and Lula (Nee
Sharp) Johnson, whose roots are several
generations deep in Pocahontas County,
West Virginia. Lula C. Sharp was the
Great Great Granddaughter, of William
Sharp, Sr., a pioneer settler of
Pocahontas Co. WV, on her Father's side;
and she was a Great Great Granddaughter
of John (of Frost) Sharp, another pioneer
settler of Pocahontas County, WV, on
her Mother's side. David's Johnson
roots in Pocahontas County, WV, go back
equally as far.

Stella Frances Farmer, 62, of Bluefield, VA,
died September 22 at a Bluefield hospital.

Born in Bluefield WV, she was a daughter of
the late Hubert and Stella Johnson Evans.

She was a member of the children's Temple
Mission Church in Bluefield, VA. She was
a former employee of Deskins Cleaners.

Survivors: husband, Reese T. Farmer; son,
Kenneth Farmer of Bluefield, VA; daughter,
Barbara Blevins of Springville; half-brother,
Ray Evans, of Florida; half-sisters, Rita
Watkins, of Martinsville, Rena Jones, of
Roanoke; and 5 grandchildren.

The funeral was conducted September 25 at
2 pm at Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield,
WV, with the Rev. Leon Yost officiating.

Burial followed at Grandview Memory Gardens
on the Bluefield-Tazewell Road.
