The River Press, Fort Benton, Mont., 5 June 1912
Helena, May 29--With a bullet wound in his head and another in his body, the body of Emerick Barrick, age 45, wrecking engineer for the Northern Pacific, was found dead at the mouth of the tunnel of the Emanuel mine, three miles south of Helena this afternoon. It is apparently a case of suicide. Barrick has been missing several days and it is believed he was despondent because of financial difficulties.
