OBITUARY
L.D. Emerson Resident of Livermore, CA passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 26th at Hacienda Care Facility in Livermore after a lengthy illness. L.D. was born in Gilmer, Texas on November 23, 1923, to Leola and Dennis Emerson. He served as a U.S. Army medic in the South Pacific in World War II, and made California his permanent home in 1946. L.D. and his family lived for many years in Southern California before retiring to Pine Grove in the gold country and, ultimately, Livermore. L.D. is survived by his loving wife, Doris, son Fred, daughter-in-law Debbie, and grandsons Alex and Ryan, all of Livermore. Sincere thanks go to the staff at Hacienda Care Facility for the years of kind and compassionate care provided to L.D. and Doris. A memorial service will be held on October 31 at 1 p.m. at Sutter Creek Church of the Nazarene in Sutter Creek, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice, 6377 Clark Avenue, Suite 100, Dublin, CA 94568.
