Mrs. Wanda McBryer
Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Southern Baptist Church in Eskridge for Mrs. Wanda McBryer, 74, Eskridge. She died Saturday, Oct. 27. at a Topeka Hospital. Mrs.McBryer was employed by the Kansas Military District, by a judge a Alma, and by the State of Kansas in Topeka. She retired in 1971.
She was born May 7, 1910, in Topeka, the dsughter of Walter and May Thomas Arnold. She moved to Lake Wabaunsee from Topeka in 1965, then moved to Eskridge in 1975.
She was a member of Eskridge Southern Baptist Church, the auxiliary to Cary Post No. 28 of the American Legion at Eskridge and a 25 year member of the Rosicrucian Order at Eskridge. She was also a member of the Wabaunsee County Historical Society.
She was married to William H. Illston in 1935, at Topeka. He preceded her in death. She was married to Jack McBryer in 1979 at Wabaunsee. He survives.
Other survivors include a son Walter R. Illston; Jefferson City, MO. a daughter Bonnie Jean Wright, Topeka; a stepdaughter, Caroline Guyon, Eskridge; two sisters, Adeline Pence, Topeka and Mae Kirk, in Washington, three grandsons, and two step grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Lung Association.
