Mrs. Josephine Dunigan, 75 years old, died at 3:30 a.m. today in Sturgis Memorial Hospital after being in failing health for more than a year.
Born in Bowling Green, Ohio, Nov. 16, 1872, she spent her early life there, marrying Roger Dunigan in 1901. She resided in Hudson from 1901 to 1925 and in Adrian from 1925 to 1927. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson.
Surviving are a daughter, Sister Marie Raphael of Detroit, two sons, Gerald of Ionia and the Rev. Fr. Raphael Dunigan of Sturgis; two brothers, Louis Deshetler of Pontiac and Clarence Deshetler of Toledo and four grandchildren. Her husband died in 1944.
The body will be at the Charles E. Brown & Son Funeral Home today (Thursday) and the funeral service will be held at ten a.m. tomorrow in the Sacred Heart church. The Rev. Fr. Raphael Dunigan will chant the Requiem high Mass and will be assisted by the Rev. Fr. Al Miller of Minden. The bearers will be nephews of the deceased and burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
