Garrett Andrew Acklin, "Andy"

Garrett Andrew Acklin, age 37, passed away on December 5, 2009. Andy was born June 1, 1972, in Flint, Michigan, to his loving parents, Charles M. and Karen Acklin.

Andy will always be remembered for his big heart. He loved being of service to others. He was very involved with in the Boy Scout program. He received his Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow, and Honored Heroism Award. He loved being involved with the Hispanic Troop in Heber, Troop 1301. Andy loved being outdoors since he was a small boy. Caving, hiking, camping, and skiing were all passions of his. He also enjoyed cooking, art, building, and anything that used his talented hands. He also loved music and was a member of the Park City Marching Band and Nauvoo Pipe Band in 2009.

He is survived by his parents, Charles and Karen, of Heber; sisters, Crusan Epps, of Heber, and Janine (Kyle) Moses, of Houston, TX; nieces, Kaeliann, MaKenna, Tika, and Carsun; nephew, Kaden; many friends and extended family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 10 â€" 11:00 a.m. in the Heber LDS 6th Ward, 325 East 500 North, Heber City. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00 â€" 8:00 P.M. at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 North Main Street, Heber City, and on Thursday from 9:30 â€" 10:30 A.M. prior to the services at the LDS Church. Interment will follow the services in the Heber City Cemetery.
