On Monday, 31 October 2011, Rubye (Emerson) Mouchet, 100, passed away in Anderson, South Carolina.
She was born on Tuesday, 25 July 1911 in the Ebenezer Community of Anderson County, SC, and was one of six children born to Jesse Newton Emerson and Beatrice (Smith) Emerson.
Rubye was a graduate of Anderson Girl's High School, Anderson Junior College, and Furman University. Her graduate studies were completed at the University of South Carolina as well as Clemson University.
She was a dedicated Educator having taught in the elementary grades in Anderson County for forty-three years, the last twenty-three years were in Anderson District No. 5.
She was a member of the South Carolina Retired Educators Association, the Anderson College Alumni Association, and a charter member of Anderson County Woman's Club.
Mrs. Mouchet was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Newton Emerson and Beatrice (Smith) Emerson, husband, John Rhett Mouchet; siblings: J. Claude Emerson, Clara (Emerson) Swygert, Sadie (Emerson) Fogle, J. Paul Emerson, Eileen (Emerson) Jackson; niece, Brenda Fogle Olson.
