SANDY - Funeral services for Ethel LaVieve Elmer Ekins, 55, Sandy, a former Provo resident who died Saturday in a Salt Lake rest home after a long illness will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Sandy Third LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Sherman Larsen officiating.
She was born April 29, 1911 in Payson, the daughter of Albert Earl and Lara Haskell Elmer. She married Dean Spencer Ekins, June 19, 1929 in Payson.
She received her education in the Payson schools. An active member of the LDS Church, she worked in the Relief Society and Primary.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence F. (LaDean) Jensen and Mrs. Emmit Glade (Carma) Cannon, both of Draper; seven grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, Max Elmer of Springville; Willis Elmer, Orem; Owen Elmer, Payson; Mrs. Clarence (Allene) Christensen of Payson, and Mrs. Max (Fern) Ostler of Roy.
Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
