Death of Albert Meade
"Albert Meade, an old an respected citizen of Greene, died at Hubbardsville, Madison County on Wednesday morning of last week (calculated to be 29 Apr 1891) where he and his wife have been living for a number of months with Mrs. Orrin Bacon, a niece. Last fall Mr. Meade had a slight attack of paralysis, from which he rallied. A few weeks ago he had another attack, of a more violent form, and that with pneumonia terminated his mortal career. The remains were brought here for burial Friday afternoon and were laid to rest beside his kindred in the family plot in Sylvan Lawn. Mr. Meade was a native of this town and at the time of his death was one of its oldest citizens. He was a familiar figure on our streets for many years, and was a quiet, well disposed citizen. He was the father of the late Hon. E. R. Meade, also of the late Miss A. V. Meade, for many years a teacher in the grammar department of Greene Union School. But very few of the old people ranking in years with the deceased are among the living with us today."
