Dad's favorite saying was: 'Hi, I'm Dennis the Menace". Dennis Morgan Kimber was born 2 July 1934 in Grouse Creek, Utah to Elmer Kimber AND Emily Annie Ballingham. He died 31 October 2011 in the Garden Terrace Rehab Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was raised in Grouse Creek and attended school in Grouse Creek and Logan. He served an LDS mission to the Hawaiian Islands. Upon his return, he was married to his Kuuipo (sweetheart in Hawaiian), Lorraine Hardy of Oakley, Idaho on 6 August 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. He worked for a couple of different service stations for a short time. Then he worked as a delivery/salesman, for Wonder Bread for eight years, then for Clover Club Foods for another 30
years. During this time, he was also a projectionist for the Capitol Theater and the Cache Drive-In Theater in Logan at night. In some of his free time, he also plowed and harrowed fields for local farmers. He loved to fly, and obtained his private pilot license. He somehow managed to carve out time to volunteer with the Civil Air Patrol, serving in positions in the local squadron, in the Utah Wing (state level) and also at the regional level.
While doing all these other things, he still made time to spend with his children playing with them, teaching them and being an overall wonderful Dad. He was active in the LDS church and served in many positions thru the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, all his siblings and a grand-daughter. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, his children: Larry (Raylene), Grant (Debbie), Denese, Nadine (Robert), Suzanne, and Lucynda, 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Friday, 4 Nov. from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City. The funeral will be held in the Grouse Creek LDS Chapel on Saturday, 5 Nov. at 12:00. It will be preceded by a viewing from 11:00 to 11:40. Interment will be in the Grouse Creek Cemetery following the funeral. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS: Please take your family out to dinner!!
