Beatrice was born to John E Fletcher (1854-1933) and Mary Martin Fletcher (1853-1917) in Colorado.

Siblings are Kitk Thomas (1883-1922); Tillie (1886-1966); Marion Pheobe (1887-1981); Daniel (Dana) Martin (1892-1969); Mable M (1893-1984) Fletcher.

Beatrice was married on 28 Dec 1916, in Port Orchard, Washington, to Doctor Ray Edward (RE) Smith.

She died in 1933 in Kotzebue, Alaska, where Doctor Ray Edward Smith was a working. My Cousin's father remembered (age 4) watching a "black box come off a ship" when they brought her to Bellingham for burial, in the Fletcher plot in Bellingham, Washington.

SMITH -- Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Beatrice Smith, aged 41 years, beloved wife of Dr. R. Edward Smith, who passed away at Kotzebue, Alaska, Saturday, February 9, will be held at the graveside at Bay View cemetery Thursday morning, February 25, at 11 o'clock, with the Rev. Leonard L. Gaylord, pastor of the Broadway United Presbyterian church, officiating. The funeral cortege will leave the Homer Mark Mortuary at Cornwall avenue and Halleck street, where the body lies in state, at 10:45 am. Bearers will be F. M. Mercer, O. L. Lundgren, I. V. Wilson, R. Lamont, Dr. E. T. Matthes and W. I. Carter.

Surviving relatives besides her husband are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Fletcher, city; one brother Daniel L. Fletcher, Seattle, Wash; three sisters, Mrs. Tillie Ramsdell, Kent, Wash; Mrs. Mabel Zelinski, Brooklyn, NY and Mrs. H. W. Dawley, Seattle, Wash and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith had resided in Bellingham twenty-seven years prior to moving to Kotzebue three years ago.
