Timothy G. McDeavitt of Hermitage, formerly of Grove City, passed away at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, in his home after a four-year battle with cancer. He was 60.

Mr. McDeavitt was born Dec. 13, 1950, in Franklin to Burton and Isabel West McDeavitt.

He graduated from Grove City High School and was of the Methodist faith.

Mr. McDeavitt was employed at Cooper Energy Services in Grove City as a inspector for 29 years, then was a monitor for five years at Mercer County Corrections Center, Sharon.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association and liked hunting, fishing, canoeing and teaching his granddaughter, Kaela, about the great outdoors.

Surviving are his life companion, Judi Joyner, at home; his mother, Grove City; his brother, Thomas McDeavitt, California; and his granddaughter, Kaela Joyner.

Timothy was preceded in death by his father.

Service: Funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday (10-28-11) in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Glenn M. Hink, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Sharon, officiating.

Burial: Crestview Memorial Park, Pine Township.
