GREENWOOD Kester McCants Adams, 88, resident of 1110 Marshall' Road, widower of June Violet Littlefield Adams, died July 24, 2003 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Saluda County, February 13, 1915, he was a son of the late William Sumter and Fannie Clary Adams.

Mr. Adams was an avid gardener and beef cattle farmer. In early years, before coming to Greenwood he was a truck fanner. After relocating in Greenwood, he was employed by Greenwood Mills, Plant 5 and continued farming while working at Greenwood Mills as well as after his retirement A resident of Burnette Road for over 40 years, he spent the last three years at Wesley Commons.

Mr. Adams displayed his great love for music in many different ways during his lifetime. In early years, he had a weekly radio broadcast and in later years he organized several different quartets who went to various nursing homes to sing and give devotional for the patients.

As a senior citizen, he was a member of the Kitchen Band where he displayed his talents by playing the guitar, harmonica and was a soloist He was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church where he attended Sunday School and sang in the Adult Choir. He was also a member of Greenwood Mills Quarter Century Club and a past member of the Beef Cattle Producers Association.

Surviving are a daughter, Gloria Adams Bearden and her husband, Dannie Bearden of Greenwood; a granddaughter, Khristi-na Lee and her husband Bryan Lee and two great-granddaugh- to( ' I I aa nm4 I a 'ill IU3, lull ptv aiiu iviavi iav, cui of Winterville, NC; a niece Elneida Dunagan of Greenwood; three step-nieces, Ruth Crawford and Betty Shumpert of Saluda and Ebbie McCarthy of Ninety Six and a step-nephew, Bill Pow of Ninety Six.

Mr. Adams was predeceased by a brother, Odelle Adams of Edgefield and a sister, Louella Adams Gregory of Greenwood; a step-brother, Fred Adams of Union and a step-sister, Auzelle Adams Pow of Ninety Six.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 pm Sunday at St. Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Johnston, Rev. Carol Peppers-Wray and Rev. Kim Eanes officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be David Ayers, William E. McCollom, Robert Triplette, Currim Quat-tlebaum, Steve Odom.
