Marion Parker was born August 28, 1928, at Meta, Missouri a son of Alfred and Bertha Woody Parker, and died January 4, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital, Jefferson City, Missouri.
He was a 1946 graduate of Vienna High School. He attended Jefferson City Junior College, Central Missouri State College, Southwest Missouri State College, and Washburn University, and held degrees from Lincoln University in English, Education, and Industrial Arts. He taught for thirty years at Thompson Hill School, St. Elizabeth Elementary School, Vienna High School, and Linn Technical College. He began a second career, and spent twenty-five years in real estate development in Jefferson City. Marion proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Parker, of Jefferson City; one sister, Mae Surber, of St. Ann; and two brothers, Loren Parker of Meta, and Gene Parker of Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clay Parker; and one infant sister, Lois Parker.
Funeral services were held January 7, 2003, at Freeman Mortuary in Jefferson City. Burial was at Riverview Cemetery with full military honors.
