Dr. R. L. Barry, of this city and Miss Mittie Clay, of Shelbina were united id marriage Wednesday evening, September 14th., at 7:30 o'clock at Shelbina at the Catholic parsonage by Rev. Father Mullen.

The bride is the daughter of C. V. Clay, of Shelbina and is well and favorably known both in Shelbina and Clarence. For a number of years she has been assisting in the offices of Dr. J. D. Smith. Dr. Barry, a veterinary surgeon has been located in our city for some time and has many friends here, who will join us in extending our congratulations and best wishes.

OBIT. - It came as a great surprise to many friends in Clarence Monday morning when the word came that Dr. R. L. Barry had passed away at the Samaritan hospital in Macon at 10 o'clock a.m., June 29, following an operation that morning. Death was caused by cancer of the liver. He had been at the hospital some two weeks in preparation for the operation.

He was born June 22, 1872 in Morrisonville, Ill., and was reared there. He moved to Clarence about 24 years ago where he continued his profession as a veterinarian.

Surviving are his wife, the former Mettie Clay, whom he married 12 years ago; an adopted son, Charles, aged 7 years; four brothers and two sisters living in Illinois.

The funeral service will be held this Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Patrick's Catholic church, conducted by Rev. Fr. Kenny. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.
