YVONNE GALE HENDRIX went to walk hand-in-hand with her Dad to meet her Lord and Savior on October 29, 2011.

When Yvonne was born on March 8, 1955, no one knew what was to become of her in this life, the gifts she would give to others. Yvonne was a lifetime resident of Clute and graduated from Brazoswood High School in 1973. Yvonne worked in the Sporting Goods Industry for many years, serving as the Store Manager for Palmer's Sporting Goods for many years and was often seen assisting at Mullins Marine and then later Kresta's Boats and Motors.

Yvonne was a member of Family Life Church and later New Beginnings Church until she was no longer able to independently attend, but her heart was with the Lord every single day and she continually sought to serve others where she was needed.

Yvonne loved spending time with her family, talking about old times and reminiscing over great memories and making new ones. She always put others' needs and wants before her own, without question or complaint. She spent hours looking for great things to buy the kids for birthdays and Christmas just to see them smile. Although she battled an illness every day that should have limited her, her giving of herself and caring for others was limitless. Her love knew no boundaries and her thoughts of others continued to her last moments. She will be missed greatly but never forgotten, she will live forever in our hearts.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her father, Glenn Edwin Mullins; nieces, Kimberly and Kristen Sohr; maternal grandparents, Adolf Fred and Hildegard Marie Lampe; and paternal grandparents, Edward Murell and Marion Edith Mullins among many other loved and missed extended family members.

Yvonne is survived by her mother, Vernette Lampe Mullins; brother, Keith Mullins of Clute; sister Dale Sohr and husband, Kenny of Angleton; nieces and nephews, Chris and Lindsey Sohr of Angleton, Kaci and Kory Mullins of Clute, and a great-nephew, Kaden Glenn Mullins.

The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thanks to Sarah, Kim and Joy for their unyielding care and compassion they gave Yvonne. We would also like to thank those serving Yvonne as Pallbearers: Kenny Sohr, Chris Sohr, Kory Mullins, Alex Willers, Will Mossbarger, Ron Mullins, Kevin Dickey and Donald Bennett.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 6 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Stroud Funeral Home in Clute and she will be laid to rest next to her Daddy with graveside services to follow at Restwood Memorial Park.

Information supplied by Peanut: She is buried close to her father, Glenn Edwin Mullins, also under plot information, hers is an unmarked grave.
