TEXAS CITY — Charles Burton was called home on April 24, 2008, in Webster, Texas. Charles was born on June 14, 1949, in Bellville, Texas to James and Betty Lou Burton.
Charles graduated High School with Lincoln class of 1969. He retired from Union Carbide in Texas City, Texas. Charles was a devoted brother, nephew and friend. He was loved by all and will be truly missed.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents.
He is survived by his mother Irene Jordan; sisters Dorris Faye Burton and Frances Jean Williams; aunts Ella Jean Mitchell, Nettie Dennis, Robbie Mae Spencer; friends Joe Eaton, Milton Roundtree, George Hurst, Frank Winworth, Orlen Hurst; special devoted girlfriend Linda Hightower; and a host of relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 1, 2008, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Tottenham Funeral Home Chapel, 5410 F.M. 1765 Texas City, Texas 77591. Home going celebration will be held Friday, May 2, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Texas City, Texas, Pastor, W. W. Jackson Sr., officiating. Interment immediately following the service at Galveston Memorial Park, Hitchcock, Texas. Food will be served at Tottenham Funeral Home following the burial.
