The funeral of K.C. Murray, editor of the Landmark and Superintendent of the Public Schools, who died Monday evening, took place from his late residence, No. 176 Bank Street, yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. A large number of friends being present, among whom were members of the School Board and delegations from the Norfolk and Portsmouth Press Club and Norfolk Typographical Union, No. 32 and the employees of The Landmark, especially those sent by the public schools teachers and The Landmark employees.
Rev. M.B. Wharton, D.D., conducted the services, assisted by Rev. J. R. Howerton, D.D., and the remains were interred in Elmwood Cemetery. The following gentlemen acted as pall-bearers:
Active-Jas. A. Kerr, W.W. Galt, Geo. McK. Bain, S.S. Nottingham, Arthur B. Camp, J.W. Crews, Herman G. Smith, D.W. Warren.
Honorary-Col. L.D. Stark, Mrs. John B. Whitehead, Mr. R.H. Baker, Sr., Mr. M. Glennan, Dr. L.B. Anderson, Captain. W.A.S. Taylor.
