Mass of Christian Burial for Jacob C. Bachmeyer, 70, of Montgomery, is set for 1 P.M. Saturday, July 22, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plantersville with Msgr. David Kennedy officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held 6 - 8 P.M. Friday with a Rosary recited at 7:30 P.M. at Metcalf Funeral Chapel. Mr. Bachmeyer was born May 25, 1936 in Plantersville, TX and lost his 12 year battle with cancer July 18, 2006 in Montgomery, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Mary Ann Bachmeyer; sisters, Louise Wischnewsky and Irene Hundl; brothers, Albert Bachmeyer and infant twins. Mr. Bachmeyer is survived by his wife Sally Bachmeyer of Montgomery; daughters, Terri Lopez and fiancé Mike Rosamond of Friendswood and Connie Bustillo and husband Manuel of Ft. Worth; step daughters, Colleen Fontenot and husband Mike of Richards and Kim Allphin and husband Kevin of Stockbridge, GA; step son, James Miller and wife Mary of Ft. Worth; sisters, Pauline Mock of Dobbin, Mary Katherine Griffith of Spring and Clara Mock of Houston; brothers, Alfred Bachmeyer and wife Donia of Conroe and George Bachmeyer and wife Florence of Pearland; grandchildren, Marshall, Mitchell, James, Krystal, Kyle, Kameron, Brandon, Leah and Eli; numerous nieces, nephews and god children all of whom he adored. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a very active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as an usher for several years and Knights of Columbus. He was a former member of Pineywoods Model A Club and a member of the Montgomery AARP Chapter. His last years were spent traveling throughout Europe on several Catholic pilgrimages. In memory of Mr. Bachmeyer, contributions may be made to Birth Right, 1300 S. Frazier, Conroe TX 77301.
