He was the father of four children;
1. Martha b-1852
2. John Anderson b-6 Apr 1854
3. William M. b-26 Feb 1858
4. Emily b-1860
Sometime, not too long after the end of the Civil War his widowed wife, Eliza, moved her young family to Missouri. This group of migrating people from east Tennessee also inlcuded her sister Elizabeth, who had married Jackson Harper.
Both of Williams's sons married in Stoddard County, Missouri, had families and spent the remaining years of their time there. They are both buried in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
