He was a son to Elwin and Marie (Sheldon) Duerr. On Mar 13, 1968, he married Sharon Schilling, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son, Doug (Andrea), Coldwater; a daughter, Christine (Robert) Jahn, Kettering; a brother, Tim, Indianapolis, IN; three sisters, Shirley (Dick) Sibert and Kelly (Kurt) Hoelscher, both Celina, and Linda (Roger) LaRue, Ft. Wayne, IN; and six grandchildren, Sarah, Katie, Gracie, Sophie, Curtis & Norah.
Deceased are a grandson, Henry; and a stepsister, Charlotte Byers.
A veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam, he was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Coldwater American Legion, Mercer County Veterans Board, Physically Challenged Bow Hunters of America, and a former member of the American Red Cross Board in Mercer County. He was a retired from the Celina Post Office.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
