Alexander Gregg was born in Knox Countuy, Ohio, June 18, 1845 the son of David and Rhoda Brown Gregg. He departed this life at his home southwest of Beecher City, Illinois on May 29, 1926 at the age of 80 years, 11 monhts, and 12 days.

He united in marriage to Ursuly Cox in 1871 and to this union two children were born, Viola and Norman. He again married to Minervia Isabelle "Belle" Price. Eight children were born to this union.

He united with the Christian Church some 40 years ago and died believing in the same faith.

He leaves to mourn his departure a kind and loving companion, Belle Gregg; Viola Byrum, Effingham, Illinois; Jossie (Richard) Larimore, George Gregg, Willie Gregg, Jessie (Fern) Gregg and Hayden Gregg, at home, all of Beecher City, Illinois.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Ursuly Gregg; son, Norman Gregg; three infants by his second wife.

Funeral services were conducted at the West Moccasin Church by the Rev. A.E. Kretzer.
