Mr. Horace Baker died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. S. D. Travis in Trimbelle, on the 19th inst. He was sixty-two years of age. For several months before his death he was afflicted by a malignant tumor, and his suffering, which he bore with great patience, were severe in the extreme.

Moved to Prescott in 1859.
Served in the 20th Wisconsin infantry in the Civil War.
He moved to the Beldenville area with his wife and two youngest sons in the early 1870s.
He died of cancer of the groin.
