Mrs. Cowles Dead at 74

Corinth — Mrs. Effie Cowles, 74, wife of Arthur Cowles, 346 Main, died unexpectedly Saturday at 6:15 p.m. at her home. Mrs. Cowles was born Sept. 20, 1886, and had resided here all her life. She and her husband recently celebated their 48th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Cowles was a lifelong member of the First Methodist Church and a member of Hudson River Rebekah Lodge of Corinth for 40 years, a past noble grand, past district deputy of the Saratoga District and a member of the Past Grands Association of the district.

Other survivors are a son, Clarence; two daughters, Mrs. John Lent and Mrs. Arnold Dalaba, all of Corinth; 10 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Gilroy and Mrs. Stella
Cochran, Corinth, and a brother, Orville Schrader, Union, N.J.

Friends may call at the Densmore Funeral Home at any time. Members of the Hudson River Rebekah Lodge will go to the funeral home to conduct a service at 7:30 tonight.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home by the Rev. Milton Lavery, pastor of the Corinth Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Corinth Rural Cemetery.
