Garland Eugene Bechtle, 78, of Henderson, WV, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born September 4, 1933 in Southside, WV, a son of the late Garland G. Bechtle and Sally E. (Kinnaird) Bechtle.

Garland was a member of the Concord Baptist Church in Henderson. He was also a 1953 graduate of Point Pleasant High School, served in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959, and retired from AKZO Noble, Inc. as a maintenance supervisor. He liked to travel, camp, and fish, and had been in all 50 states.

He is survived by
his wife, Mary Lynn (Bray) Bechtle whom he married August 5, 1962;
a daughter and son-in-law, Eugenia Lynn and Kenny Williams of Gallipolis Ferry;
one granddaughter, Kendra Lynn Williams of Gallipolis Ferry;
one sister, Maxine King of Lancaster, Ohio;
a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jo Kathleen and Paul E. Yoder of Gallipolis Ferry;
nieces and nephews, Harry King of Lancaster, Larry King of Lancaster, Nancy Snyder of Lancaster, Paul E. Yoder II of Gallipolis Ferry, and Margaret Jo Yoder of Gallipolis Ferry.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Concord Baptist Church in Henderson with Rev. Fred McCallister and Pastor Rick Tench officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Cemetery.
