Long-Time Resident of Muscatine Dies After Brief Illness Special to the Democrat

Wilton, IA., Sept. 19-- Mrs Caroline Hain, aged 72 years, a resident of Cedar county and this section of the state since she was seven years of age, died at 5:15 o'clockthis morning at the home of her son, A.M. Hain, six miles north of Wilton. Death followed a complication of diseases. She had been ill six weeks.

Mrs. Hain (Bowman) was born in Philadelphia, PA., June 27, 1850, and when she was girl her parents came to this community. She had been a life-long resident here, marrying L.J. Hain, May 2, 1873. For 22 years previous to his demise the family had lived in Muscatine but for the last 18 months since her husband's death, Mrs. Hain had resided with her son

She is survived by four sons, Elmer of Moscow; A.M. and D.E. of Cedar conty and Ernest of Omaha; and three daughters, Mrs. William Wildasin of Cedar; Mrs. George Hoefflin and Mrs. Frank Hoffmeyer of Muscatine. A son, Harry, died just a year ago today. Twenty-three grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
