He was a veteran of World War II, a logger, and a member of the IWA and American Legion. He came to Ryderwood in 1924, and to Kelso in 1945.
Surviving are his widow, Hazel; his mother, Susan J, Marsell, Kelso; three sons, Virgil L., Longview, and Stewart and Lamar, Kelso; three step-children, Mrs. Wendell Karjola, Longview, and Miss Betty Hardin and Ben Hardin, Yacolt; brothers, Oscar O., Vancouver, and Ivan E., Longview; several nieces and nephews; 9 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 pm at McVickers Chapel with Rev. Erwin R. Lockwood and Rev. William N. Paris officiating. Interment will be in Longview Memorial Park.
