Funeral services for Lester Walker, 78 of Shambaugh will be at 10:30 am, Friday at the Shambaugh Church of God with Rev Virgil Blosser and Rev Lewis Hunter officiating.

Mr Walker died Tuesday morning at Municipal Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born Sept 24, 1900 at College Springs, the son of Charles A. and Lulu Baird Walker.

In 1935 he was married to Elsie Moger who preceded him in death June of 1977. He was married to Esther Keesey in November 1978.

Mr Walker had farmed in the College Springs and Braddyville areas until his retirement.

He graduated from the Amity High School at College Springs and was a member of the Church of God at Shambaugh and a longtime church council member.

Survivors include his wife Esther of the home and brothers, Harold of Tucson, Az, and Roger of Horseshoe Bend, Ar. Sisters are Vesta Reed of Braddyville and Madeline Johnston, of Jacksonville, Fl. Step children are Wayne Keesey of Vancouver, Wa, Vivian Davies of New Market and Eva Ann Keesey of Orange, Ca. There are eight step grandchildren.

Norma Clement will be soloist and Elma Geer organist. Estella Howard will be at the register. Casket bearers will be Leo Miller, Ernest Winger, Charley Geer, Kris Davies, Dennis Johnston and Willie Babb. Honorary bearers will be Ernest Meyer, Horace Stone, Lemoyne Beery, Glen Perry, Jay Jamison and Art Bair. Ushers will be Carmen Clement, Walter Geer, and Melvin Cabbage.
