Ralph L. Beaston, 76, of Attica, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.

He was born Oct. 30, 1934, in Melmore, to Howard and Grace (Carrick) Beaston. He married Ann Kalb Nov. 17, 1956, at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Attica.

Survivors include his spouse, Ann Beaston of Attica; two sons, Ronald Beaston of Columbus and Jeffrey Beaston of Attica; two daughters, Karen (Seth) Herrnstein of New Washington and Amy Wurm of Bloomville; a sister, Mary Ellen Williams of Melmore; 11 grandchildren, Nathan Beaston, Aubrey Beaston, Jeremy, Megan, Justin and Jordan Herrnstein, Kelsey Herrnstein Fuller and Amber, Heather, Joshua, and Stone Wurm; and six great-grandchildren, Kain, Jaylin, Kelan, and Trasyn Beaston and Grace and Skylar Herrnstein.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Kathleen and Florence Beaston; and a brother, Merle Beaston.

Ralph was employed at GE, Tiffin, for 32 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Attica, and the Knights of Columbus Father Teolis Council No. 3062, Attica, was the coordinator for the Measure Up Campaign for the local K of C, was a 1953 graduate of Melmore High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. Ralph enjoyed camping and gardening, watching his grandchildren in their many activities and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.

His funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Attica, with the Rev. Paul Fahrbach officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Attica, with military graveside services conducted by Attica American Legion Post No. 260
