Elmer Houston Russell, age 81, of Maryville, born March 16, 1930, passed away Friday, October 28, 2011, at 3:05 AM at home. He retired from Tuckaleechee Utility District in 1996. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Evell Russell; parents, Walter Guy and Ida Garner Russell; and brothers, Sam, Earl, and Mayford Russell. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jim Whitehead, Pat and Doyle Stephens, and Sharon and Jim Pelfrey; step-son and wife, Roger and June Deering; grandchildren, Rebecca, Rennay, Ashley, Whitney, and J. R.; step-grandchildren, Tessa and Ellen; four great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the people from Blount Hospice who took such good care of our Daddy. Funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Monday, October 31, 2011, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. George Macht and Rev. Scott Huffstetler officiating. Family and friends will gather 11:00 AM Tuesday at Piney Level Cemetery for the interment.
