Former Lusk resident dies

Services for Lawrence Zimmerman, 67, will be held Friday Dec. 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk.

The Rev. Frank Bozart will officiate.

He died Sunday, Dec. 3, at the Douglas Hospital.

Zimmerman was born Feb. 13, 1911 at Harrison, Neb., the son of Irven and Mabel Zimmerman.

He attended school in Harrison and worked at various ranches in the Harrison area. On March 5, 1938, he married Doris Peterson at Crawford, Neb. The couple moved to Lusk in 1938 where he worked as a carpenter and T.V. repairman. He moved to Douglas in 1965.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

He is survived by six children, Mable Wade of Lusk, Dorothy Flaherty of Okmulgee, Okla., Beverly Younie of Gillette, Larry Zimmerman of Denver, Colo., Patty Irven of Lusk and Jim Zimmerman of Rock Springs; three sisters, Lilly Grapes of Littleton, Colo., Margaret Kipp of Santa Ana, Calif. and Clara Hayworth of Lusk; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Bodarc Cemetery, north of Harrison.
