Marysville Daily Appeal, Volume XXI, Number 51, 2 March 1870, Page 3: DEATH OF A PIONEER LADY. —Mrs. Catharine L. Keller, died of consumption at Sacramento on the 28th of February, aged nearly 60 years. The deceased was born at Frankfort-on-the-Main, Germany, and emigrated to this country when 12 years old, her parents settling at Philadelphia. Subsequently the family removed to New Albany, Indiana, where the deceased married John Keller, a merchant. Mr. and Mrs. Keller removed to California in 1849, and arrived in this city in September of that year. John Keller, deceased in this city in 1852. Four children survive the mother, namely : Charles L. Keller and Louisa Bowie of Oregon, J. H. Keller of San Francisco, and Eliza C. Brown, of Sacramento. The body of the deceased will arrive from Sacramento, this afternoon, by the Vallejo cars, and her funeral will take place from the M. E. Church at 3 o'clock this afternoon. Friends of the family are invited.
