McMinnville resident and DeKalb County, TN native Edward Byars Harding, Sr., age 80, was born November 20, 1926 and died January 25, 2007 at his residence following a one-year illness.
He was an electronics technician at A.E.D.C, a WWII veteran of the Merchant Marines and Korean War veteran of the United States Army.
He was the son of the late Walter Park and Annie Lee Byars Harding.
He was married March 16, 1963 to Mary Vernell Standefer Harding of McMinnville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Byars Harding, Jr. of McMinnville; brother, Walter Parker Harding of Eugene, OR;
half-brother, John Kenneth Jones of McMinnville and
half sister, Doris Ann Grandy of Louisville, TN.
Funeral service was held at Saturday, January 27, 2007 in High's Chapel. Burial followed in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cagle, TN with full military honors administered by the American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
