He died in peace on September 25, 2011.
Cal was preceded in death by all of his siblings, three brothers and five sisters, his beloved wife Eveline and son Eddy, leaving his daughter Janice, her husband Bob and grandsons, Juston and Conor Swan of Eugene.
Before Cal Joined the Navy, he worked in Richmond California for Richmond Shipbuilding Company. He subsequently joined the Navy.
He served in the Navy during World War II and was a war husband, marrying Eveline in "the little church around the corner" in San Francisco. He was discharged in Dec of 1945.
In 1977 Cal Johnson incorporated and opened the Ming Auto Beauty Center at 420 So 6th in Boise, Idaho. He successfully ran this business for almost ten years before selling and retiring. The business logo still adorns the building which is now the Ming Art Studio Building at the same address.
These last few years were challenging but made lighter by all of his buddies on the Avis team, his great neighbor Trese, and his new friend and caregiver, Phil. A special thanks to all of the staff at St. Luke's who gave him wonderful care.
"Here's to Cal" Memorial, Monday, October 31st at 2:00 pm, at Cal's home 2397 Ridgeview Way, Boise. Come with a story and laughter to share."

There was a group of guys from the Buhl, Filer Idaho area who grew up together , joined the Navy in WW II and maintained their friendship until the ends of their lives, Billy Stout, Hal England and Cal Johnson. They golfed together and recreated together at Terrace Lakes near Crouch, Idaho. May they all Rest in Peace and enjoy their friendship together forever. Three Patriots from the Greatest Generation. Thank You All For Your Service.
