Charles J. Hultman, 74, of 15 Concord Street, Spanish American War Veteran, died last evening at Bristol Hospital from injuries suffered several hours previous in a fall down the stairs at his home. Death, according to Dr. Eric M. Simmons, Southington medical examiner, was due to a fracture of the skull and concussion of the brain.

He was born at Manchester, Feb. 3, 1875, a son of the late Martin and Anna (Hallberg) Hultman and came to Bristol from that place 31 years ago. He had been employed as a machinist by the New Departure Division of General Motors Corporation for many years until his retirement eight years ago.

Mr. Hultman's late wife was the former Betty (Nelson) Hultman. He leaves three sons, Clifford M., Kenneth W. and Clarence E. Hultman, all of Bristol; five daughters, Mrs. Doris I. Ohlund, Mrs. Lillian B. Rindflesh, Miss Gladys V. Hultman, Mrs. Vivian A. Peatman and Mrs. Betty L. Smith, also all of this city; a brother Arthur L. Hultman of Manchester; a sister Mrs. Annie Thomas, also of Manchester; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at Barnes Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Marcus Lornell, pastor of Lebanon Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in West cemetery.

Friends may call at the Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Friday afternoon and evening. The family has requested that flowers be omitted.
