Pine Island, Orrin Andrist, area farmer and cheesemake died Tuesday of cancer in St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
Mr. Andrist was born August 24, 1905 in Milton Township, Dodge County to Adolph A. Andrist. He lived in Dodge County and worked as a farmer and cheesemaker at the Wasioja Creamery. He married the former Violet Gesse on August 24, 1950 in Kasson.
Survivors include his widow, Violet and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Leonard (Leona) Flikke of West Concord, three step-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Clifford Quimby and Mrs. Joe Elias and six brothers, Ned, Arnold, Adolph, Rolland, Otto and Willis all of Pine Island. One brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Saturday at the Mahler Funeral Home with Rev. David Achterkirch of the First Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Island Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Howard, Delmar, Lawrence and Douglas Andrist and Roland Quimby.
