Deceased Name: Donna Louise Dustin Ewer
OGDEN -Donna Louise Dustin Ewer 82, our loving mother, grandmother and sister passed away early September 6, 2006, surrounded by her family at Ogden Regional Medical Center.
Mom was born May 11, 1924 in Riverdale, UT, the second daughter of Kenneth and Luella Jones Dustin . She graduated from Ogden High in 1943. She married Leland Miller in January 1943. They were later divorced. She married Wilford Ewer on November 11, 1949.
Mom's greatest joy was her family. She gave us many wonderful memories and taught us life's values. She enjoyed being outdoors. Anything to do with gardening and working in her yard. She was a member of the Utah Daughters of Pioneers Camp 44S, where she also served on the board. She worked many jobs to help support her family. The favorites were homemaker and caretaker of many.
Her love for children brought her in contact with many as a Girl Scout troop leader and Boy Scout Den Mother. She held many positions in the South Ogden 28th Ward, now the 2nd ward. Serving many years as ward librarian and at the Genealogical Library in Ogden. All the children in the ward knew her as "Grandma Donna".
She is survived by her younger brother Harvey Ray (Peggy) Dustin , Washington Terrace; and sister La Rue (Wes) Hansen, Tremonton. Her children, Ellen Miracle, Stanford, KY; Richard (Lydia) Miller, Schwabach, Germany. Rodney (Christine) Ewer , Hooper, UT; Lynda Weaver, Annet Ewer , Janice Ewer and Sheila Ewer , all of Ogden. Eighteen grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren with two more she will see off to their earthly home. Also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wilford, son David, Grandson Roger Miracle and granddaughter Elaine Miller, one brother Darrell Dustin , one sister Nora Tudor.
Services will be held September 9, 2006 at 1 p.m. in the South Ogden 2nd Ward chapel, 3755 Porter Ave. South Ogden, UT.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday September 8, 2006 at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th St. Ogden, UT, and from 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to services at the Ward.
Internment at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
