Allen R. Powell, 60, of Earlville died April 6, 2000, in Vencor Hospital, Sycamore. A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Theresa Catholic Church, Earlville. The Rev. M.J. Driscoll will officiate. Burial will be at St. Theresa Cemetery, Earlville. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday in Hanley-Turner Funeral Home, Earlville. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mr. Powell was born Dec. 11, 1939, in Chicago to Ray and Alvada (Jeffries) Powell. He married Patricia M. Goodbred on June 17, 1961, in St. Theresa Catholic Church, where he served as secretary-treasurer since his retirement in 1992. He had been employed at Del Monte Corp. in Rochelle for 25 years as transportation/storage supervisor. He was a member of the Mendota Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife; his mother of Bolingbrook; two daughters, Paula Kosnick of Madison, Wis., and Linda (Brian) Johnson of Ottawa; a son, Scott (Annette) Powell of Sandwich; five grandchildren; a sister, Jean (Robert) Burns of La Grange Park; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Kay, at birth and his father. A memorial fund is being established.
