Ida Alice Elliott Cassity, age 75, of Sandy Hook, Kentucky passed away Wednesday evening, October 26, 2011, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.
Alice was born November 29, 1935, in Elliott County, Kentucky a daughter of the late Clyde and Irene Jarrells Elliott.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, Boyd Elliott and Lloyd Elliott; one sister, Goldie Nadine Elliott; one sister-in-law Madge Fraley; one brother-in-law, June Cassity.
She is survived by her husband Ollie Eugene "Gene" Cassity of 49 years; two daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly and Rick Mays and Gina Cassity, all of Sandy Hook; six brothers and sister-in-laws, Edward Elliott of Columbus, Ohio, Ernest Lee Elliott of Morehead, Kentucky, Hershel Elliott, Earl and Sharon Elliott, Pearlman and Valerie Elliott and Larry and Dorothy Elliott all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; two sisters, Leatha Ferguson of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Jolene and Herman Kolbe of Basking Ridge, New Jersey; two step grandchildren, Richard and Brad Mays; one sister-in-law and husband, Mary Lou and Bob Lewis; one brother-in-law and wife Ernest Ray and Eula Cassity; a host of neices and nephews; a host of grand neices and grand nephews; a host of friends.
Obituary and open prayer will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011, in the Chapel of Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, with Brother Keith Lyons and Brother Jason Ison officiating. Memorial service and burial will follow in the Town Cemetery in Sandy Hook, Kentucky.
Family and friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
