She grew up in a large family, with nine sisters and two brothers. All except a sister, Shirley Baker of Huntsville and a brother, Larry Poindexter of California, preceded her in death. She married Ryan Grove of Miller, Mo., on July 28, 1940. Ryan preceded Annalea in death five years ago.
Annalea and Ryan came to Texas in 1945. They had one daughter and two sons of their own and one adopted daughter from Annalea's sister: daughter Beverly Wyatt of Blackwell with three sons, Chris, Danny and David Wyatt; son James Grove of Odessa, who preceded Annalea in death in 1988, with one son, Jeff Grove and two daughters, Amy Shirley and Kristin Gray; son John Grove of San Angelo with two sons, Justin and Zachary Grove and one daughter, Johnna Grove; and daughter Lisa Grove of Blackwell. All together, Annalea had four children, nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Annalea was a homemaker all of her married life. She worked very hard, cleaning, cooking and taking care of her children and grandchildren for many years. Annalea loved all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all of her heart and her heart was very big indeed. All of us, her decendants, were her life, we all meant everything to her. We all loved her in return with all of our hearts as she helped each and every one of us become who we are today. During her life, Annalea loved to write poems and music about things dear to her heart and she sewed many quilts during her life.
Graveside service was held Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, in Blackwell Cemetery. Arrangements were by Shaffer Funeral Home.
