Robert "Bob" Dale Taylor, born October 14, 1940, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Bob graduated from Walland High School in 1958. He retired from Food City in 1996. Bob enjoyed listening to and singing southern gospel music and performed with the Harmony Boys.

He is preceded in death by parents, Hoyle and Mayme Taylor; sister, Mary Ruth Walker; infant sister, Phyllis Jean Taylor.

Survivors include wife of 52 years, Benita (Borden) Taylor; children, Vicky Miles and Tom Forrester, Dale and Kathy Taylor, Susan and Carl Sholtz, David and Regina Taylor; grandchildren, Chris and Jason Miles, Rob, Chelsey and Tori Taylor, Heather Murrell, Megan and Madeline Taylor; great-grandchildren, Kylie Huffstettler and Cynthia Miles; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Barbara Taylor; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mickey Walker, Marvin, J.W., and Arthur Borden, Clara Ruth Teffeteller, and Betty Wilson; several nieces and nephews; special niece and nephew, Larry and Nancy Brown.

Special thanks to Dr. Myrwood Besozzi for taking care of Bob all these years. Thank you to all the nurses and CNAs on the 9th floor and to Ms. Janet for special care you gave, you were Mr. Bobby's angel.

Family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011, at Smith Trinity Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and entombment at Grandview Cemetery at 11 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2011, with Rev. Gary King and Elder Bill Taylor officiating. The family requests that memorial donations be made to University of Tennessee Heart Lung Vascular Institute in memory of Bob, 1940 Alcoa Highway, Suite E310, Knoxville, TN 37920.
