MARION - Henry Jeter Creech, 78, died Monday at home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Marion Baptist Church by Rev. Paul O. Batson Jr. with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Creech was born in Denmark, a son of the late Samuel and Lalla Hutto Creech. He was a member of Marion Baptist Church, served as deacon for 25 years and taught Sunday School for many years. He worked for Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Co. for 45 years until retirement in 1953.

He is survived by his wife, Mada Ray Creech; a son, Hasell E. Creech of Columbia; a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Ray Page Jr. of Sellers; a brother, Frank K. Creech of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Lehman (Maude) Barnes of Smithfield, NC and Mrs. Walter (Edna) Wray of Tallahassee, Fla.; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
