Charles (Charlie) Mauldin Williams, 83, formerly of 437 Pelzer Highway, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Center.

Born in Easley, he was a son of the late Harmon O'Dell and Grace Mauldin Williams.

Mr. Williams was retired from Bell South and was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Lesley Williams of the home; a son, Jack Williams of Easley; a daughter, Gaye Cantrell and husband, Stan of Easley; two sisters, Sarah Williams of Anderson and Nancy Hammond of Moonville; four grandchildren, Lindsay, Jessy and Kelsey Limbaugh and Jaclyn Williams.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was predeceased by his brother, Harmon O'Dell Williams, Jr.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday, prior to the service.

Private burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family is at the home of the daughter at 105 Kelly Court, Easley.

Memorials may be made to the St. Andrew United Methodist Church Building Fund, 309 Pelzer Highway, Easley, SC 29642.
