Margaret Elizabeth Draper Gee was buried under the inscription M. Elizabeth, suggesting that she used her middle name.

She was born in Utah Territory. Her father was Parley Pine Draper from Pleasantvale, Illinois, member of a prominent Utah pioneer family. Her mother Margaret Samina Simonsen was born in Hjorring, Denmark and emigrated to the Utah Territory in 1860.

M. Elizabeth Draper married Samuel E. Gee (25) at the age of 18, in 1883. It was the first marriage for both. Sam had emigrated to Utah Territory with his parents from the Manchester area of England in 1874. Both families had eventually settled in Moroni, and the couple were married there.

They had three children: Hettie (1884) and Samuel H. Gee (1886). However, Elizabeth would die three days after the birth of their next child Malinda, who died the day of her birth in 1888. Elizabeth was not yet 23. She and Sam are buried in Moroni, with Malinda near her mother.

She was survived by two children and her husband, who went on to remarry twice. Her daughter Hettie would have seven children surviving to adulthood, and her son Sam H. would have five. These would eventually give Elizabeth many grandchildren.
