PINE RIVER -- Leroy Kicker, 81, Pine River, died Friday, May 26, 2000, at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Center in Pine River.

He was born March 22, 1919, in Clementson to Adolph and L.V. Kicker. He moved to Pine River from Wadena in 1933. He married Marvel Schultze on Nov. 23, 1937, in Emily. He was employed at Kater Auto in Pine River for 32 years until his retirement in March of 1981. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the Army. He was a member of the Pine River American Legion. He became a born-again Christian in May of 1930 at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Wadena and was a board member of Faith Assembly of God Church in Pine River from 1964 to 1981. He was also a charter member of Faith Assembly of God Church in Pine River.

Survivors include his wife, Marvel, Pine River; two sons, Laurence Kicker, Baxter, and Samuel Kicker, Eagan; four daughters, Naomi Holden, Baker City, Ore., Clarissa Harris, Monticello, Susan McAllister, Pine River, and Barbara Williamson, Brooklyn Park; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Evie, a grandson, a brother, Allen Kicker, and two sisters, Mildred Krueger and Martha Thompson, died earlier.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Assembly of God Church in Pine River with Pastors Tim Walker, Del Yetley and Steve Vagle officiating. Burial will be in Norwood Cemetery in rural Pine River.
